Lo-Type Font Family was designed by Louis Oppenheim, Erik Spiekermann and published by Berthold. Lo-Type contains 6 styles and family package options. Lo-Type was designed by Louis Oppenheim and first released by Berthold in 1914. In 1980 Erik Spiekermann adapted the faces and expanded the family with the addition of a regular weight. Subtle deviations and inconsistencies between the characters in the different weights are intentional. The large x-height, idiosyncratic shapes and wobbly edges make it particularly eye-catching and unique. As Louis Oppenheim wrote, “Advertising should never be dry. A little bit of humor combined with straight facts will produce a happy mixture.”
