Privacy Policy — Coupon Finder Extension (DealSolo)

This Privacy Policy describes what data the DealSolo Coupon Finder browser extension (“the Extension”) accesses, how it is used, and your choices. The Extension is provided by DealSolo (dealsolo.com).
1. What the Extension does
The Extension has a single purpose: to automatically detect coupon codes and deals available for the website you are currently visiting, and show them to you in a badge count, an on-page notification, and a popup.
2. Data we access
Current tab domain. When you switch tabs or a page finishes loading, the Extension reads the hostname of the active tab (for example, “nike.com”) and sends it to our own server (dealsolo.com) to look up matching coupons. We do not read, collect, or transmit the full page URL, page content, page title, browsing history, or any other tabs.
No personal information. The Extension does not collect your name, email address, physical address, phone number, payment or financial information, health information, authentication credentials, or personal communications. It does not use location services, and it does not monitor clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, or keystrokes.
Local, on-device storage only.
- We temporarily cache the coupon results for the current site on your device for up to 15 minutes so we don’t repeat the same lookup.
- We store basic extension configuration (branding, version number, and whether an update is available) on your device, refreshed periodically from our server.
- We store a “snoozed” flag on your device when you dismiss the on-page notification for a site, so we don’t show it again for 24 hours.
None of this local data is personally identifiable, and none of it is sold or shared with third parties.
3. How we use the data we access
The domain of your current tab is used solely to query our coupon database and return relevant coupon codes and deals for that specific site. This is the only purpose for which this data is used — it is not used for advertising profiles, analytics unrelated to this purpose, resale, or any purpose beyond showing you coupons for the site you’re on.
4. Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to third parties. The only network request the Extension makes is to our own servers at dealsolo.com to retrieve coupon information and extension configuration.
5. Data retention
Coupon lookup results and configuration data are cached locally on your device for short periods (up to 15 minutes for lookups, up to 24 hours for notification snoozes) and are automatically replaced or expired. We do not retain a server-side log of the sites you visit tied to your identity.
6. Your choices
You can remove the Extension at any time from your browser’s extensions page, which deletes all locally stored data described above. You can also dismiss on-page notifications per site, and disable the Extension without uninstalling it.
7. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
